The Illinois Department of Transportation will have lane closures on both sides of Interstate 74 near the Illinois River will begin Wednesday, August 21.
The closures are necessary for crews to inspect the bridges that carry Interstate 74 over Camp Street, a railroad, a bike path and Farm Creek in East Peoria. There also will be inspections on the westbound I-74 flyover exit ramp over I-74, Farm Creek and exit ramps just east of Murray Baker Bridge. The inspections are planned for 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and are expected to be complete by Thursday, August 22.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. Use of alternate routes should be considered.
