About the Drop Box

The drug drop box in front of the Public Safety Building has been updated.

Through an Illinois Department of Health grant, the Tazewell County Health Department has purchased a new drug drop box residents can use for disposal of expired and unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications. A large amount of pills are dropped off in East Peoria's box, and the new, larger box is safer for East Peoria Police officers to empty since they do not have to touch the medications inside it.

The drop box is available 24 hours a day seven days a week, is restricted to non-commercial use, and is monitored by cameras.
