Planning & Development


The Planning and Community Development Department is responsible for administering programs, projects and activities that enrich East Peoria and make it a better place to live and work. This Department focuses on improving and fostering:

  • New residential, commercial, and industrial growth
  • Redevelopment Efforts
  • Neighborhood preservation and enhancement
  • Regulated land uses for orderly growth and development
  • Overall economic activity

The Planning and Community Development Department is comprised of several different functions and divisions.  These include:

  • Economic Development
  • Long-Range Planning
  • Building & Inspections
  • Geographic Information System (GIS)
  • Code Enforcement
  • Community Development, which includes the Beautification Commission
