The City of East Peoria offers a full range of services, divided into city departments. Go to "City Admin./Dept." in the navigation bar at the top of the page to access each department.
Each department has a specific function for the community:
The Buildings and Public Property Department includes maintenance and repair of city facilities, code enforcement and building construction, energy efficiency and Internet technology.
The East Peoria City Clerk's Office issues certain permits and conducts a variety of duties inlcuding voter registration and processing water billing payments.
The East Peoria Police Department and East Peoria Fire Department handle all public safety issues, with a priority being the wellbeing of residents and visitors.
The East Peoria Housing Authority operates a Section 8 Housing Choice voucher program, working with both tenants and landlords.
The East Peoria Planning and Community Development Department performs a variety of duties including regulating land and building use, updating the city street map, and working with commercial, residential and industrial developers.
East Peoria Public Works handles streets, water and sewer service, residential garbage and curbside recycling collection.
Tourism and Special Events is a multi-faceted department. This department includes EastSide Centre (both the fitness operations and the indoor and outdoor sports events and tournaments), RiverFront Park and the Festival Building, the Festival of Lights, and special events including East Peoria's Independence Day celebration, and the City's grounds and maintenance divisions.
